Highest purse value in IPL 2025 mega auction: The retention list of all 10 franchises came out on Thursday (31 October). Most of the franchises have retained 5 to 6 players ahead of the mega auction for the upcoming season. However, to retain the same number of players, every franchise had to spend a hefty amount.


According to BCCI rules, every franchise could spend up to Rs 75 crore on retention. At the same time, this time the purse money of all the franchises has been fixed at Rs 120 crore by the board for the mega auction. 3. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) {69 crores}



In IPL 2022, two teams were part of this mega league, including Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow Super Giants have retained five players for the 18th season of IPL. These include Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni. The franchise has spent the most money on Pooran to retain. He has been retained for 21 crores. However, despite this, the franchise has a good amount of purse value left. LSG will enter the mega auction with a purse value of 69 crores.

2. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) {83 crores}



Royal Challengers Bangalore has not won the trophy even once in the IPL so far. For the upcoming season of IPL, the franchise has expressed confidence in only three players. Apart from Virat Kohli, RCB has retained Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal. RCB now has Rs 83 crore left in its purse money.


1. Punjab Kings (PBKS) {110.5 crores}



Punjab Kings have retained only two players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh remain with the franchise. Punjab will enter the mega auction with the highest purse value. The franchise still has Rs 110.5 crore left in its purse. Punjab will have the freedom to spend money freely in the auction.
