IPL 2025 : Top 5 Captains Who Were Not Retained by IPL Franchises


All 10 franchises have released the list of their retained players for IPL 2025. Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Stockholm have retained the maximum number of 6-6 players. At the same time, 5-time champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have bet on 5-5 players. Gujarat Titans, Lucknow SuperGiants and Sunrisers Hyderabad have also retained 5-5 players. Capital Castle has relied on 4, Royal Challengers Bangalore on 3 and Punjab King Eagle on 2 players.

The franchises have also released many players. These include Jos Buttler, Quinton de Kock, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Sarfaraz Khan and Arshdeep Singh. Not only the players, there are 5 franchises who have also removed their captains. This also includes the winning team of the last season.

Shreyas Iyer Was Not Retained by Kolkata Knight Riders



Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the IPL 2024 title, have not expressed confidence in Shreyas Iyer. KKR has retained Rinku Singh (13 crores), Varun Chakraborty (12 crores), Sunil Narine (12 crores), Andre Russell (12 crores), Harshit Rana (4 crores) and Ramandeep Singh (4 crores). In such a situation, now Shreyas will enter the auction field.


Delhi Capitals have not retained Rishabh Pant, Lucknow SuperGiants have retained KL Rahul, Punjab Kings have retained Shikhar Dhawan and Royal Challengers Bangalore have not retained Faf du Plessis. In such a situation, all these captains are going to be seen in the mega auction. Delhi Capitals have retained Akshar Patel (16.50 crores), Kuldeep Yadav (13.25 crores), Tristan Stubbs (10 crores) and Abhishek Porel (4 crores).
